Rinsing Machine
A rinsing machine sterilizes the interior of bottles before filling, removing impurities, dust, and foreign bodies that may have entered containers during storage or transport. As the first processing machine bottles encounter after loading onto the line, the rinser ensures containers are sterile and ready for filling.
How Rinsing Machines Work
The automatic rinsing process follows a precise sequence:
- Bottle infeed — bottles arrive in single file via conveyor belt sized to bottle format
- Auger positioning — worm screw spaces bottles at equal distances
- Star wheel transfer — aligns bottles for processing
- Clamp engagement — grips bottle neck and inverts container
- Rinsing — nozzle enters bottle neck; high-pressure spray of peracetic acid, water, or disinfectant removes foreign bodies
- Drying — strong jet of filtered compressed air dries interior instantly
- Repositioning — bottle returns to upright position
- Discharge — bottle transfers to conveyor system toward filling station
Rinsing Machine Configurations
Rinsing machines offer various configurations to accommodate different bottle formats and production requirements:
Adjustable Components
- Rotating head height — adjusts to bottle height in use
- Stars and augers — format-specific parts for different bottle sizes
- Clamp quantity — varies based on production speed requirements
Rinsing Circuit Options
| Configuration |
Description |
| Single circuit |
One cleaning medium for interior rinsing |
| Dual circuit |
Two separate cleaning media for enhanced sterilization |
| Fixed nozzle |
Spray from fixed position outside bottle |
| Insertable nozzle |
Nozzle enters bottle for thorough interior coverage |
Bottle Format Compatibility
Rinsing machines accommodate diverse bottle formats through changeover parts:
- Sparkling wine bottles — heavier construction, specific neck profiles
- Table wine bottles — standard long-neck formats
- Small formats — 250 ml and similar sizes
- Large formats — up to 2 liters and beyond
All format-specific components (stars, augers, clamps, height settings) must match the bottle dimensions being processed.
Rinsing Media
Different products are used for bottle interior cleaning depending on application and hygiene requirements:
- Peracetic acid — powerful disinfectant for sterilization
- Water — standard rinsing for new bottles
- Other disinfectants — application-specific sanitizing agents
- Filtered compressed air — final drying stage
